This is such a sad story I often struggled to bring myself to read it. The novel is written as if it were a true story told by the central character, 5-year-old Tomos. This intense book is just as much a horror as a thriller.
The story begins as a stream of consciousness, written in the first person, from Clarissa. She is writing to log the actions of Rafe, her stalker, but it’s written as though it’s Rafe himself that she’s talking to. Much of the story is written in this way.
